GentlemanBunny does it again with a nice brand new tutorial on making miniature kiwi fruit polymer clay cane. You can use air dry clay to perform the same steps and you should get the same results. Just tint your air dry clay to the colors needed for your kiwi fruit cane. go to http://www.google.com/, click on images and search for an image of the inside of a kiwi fruit for more realism.
